Central State Insane Asylum | Power House - Indianapolis, IN

Updated: Oct 10, 2022

Note:

I have a new site dedicated to my urban exploration called No Tracers. Check it out for new updates!

I took a trip to my godmother's house in Indiana and did a ton of research on the abandoned places on the outskirts of the city. I discovered a haunted insane asylum that had a very devastating history. The patients were transported beneath the facilities, because they were too dangerous to be escorted outside on the grounds. There were about one hundred buildings on the property when the facility was finally shut down, but now there are only about a dozen of them left. I went to the property not expecting to find anything, but there was a house, that belonged to the...warden? of the facility and had been turned into a museum which featured memorabilia of the haunting past of Indiana's awful medical practices from the past.

I asked the museum owner if I could explore the abandoned powerhouse and he said that I could if I found a way in.

This was my discovery. Oh, it was terrifying, by the way.
